"GOOD WINE While I drink half a liter,/ of sweetish Frascati,/ I look at the wall of the cellar/ with stains of saltpeter./ I look and think how funny/ nature is sometimes/ that combines a figure/ with saltpeter and mold./ I discover in a stain/ a kind of animal:/ it looks like a golden eagle/ with the tail of a crow./ There's a bear, here's a rooster,/ wolves, sheep, rams,/ and on a pile of cannons/ a devil passes on horseback!/ But in the background one glimpses/ a woman in the pose/ of one who expects something/ from Love and Faith.../ I drink the wine and look at the wall/ with a good presentiment:/ I'll be drunk, but I feel/ more calm and more secure.
